Heading to Gothenbrg at the end of January for my brothers 21st any suggestions of places to go / things to see / things to avoid?

Personally, I'd get a train 60km north and head to Trollhatten. Gotheburg's OK but a little on the bland side.

Trollhatten has a really nice vibe about the place, some great bars and clubs (Butlers always used to be a top spot). Non boozy stuff includes the Innovatum which is great fun, the SAAB museum (catch it before it goes!!), the waterfalls - actually massive sluece gates that open a couple of times a day and lovely lady watching.

Volvo museum is there.

It's not dull at all,very good display.

I though Gothenburg was a great city

Last time I was the beer was extremely expensive. Didn't stop me drinking though.

Same thing as when I was in Japan then... £8 a pint roughly.

One lesson learned though, when the booze is that expensive don't resort to this:
