Caribbean: Knew it was odd when the Jumbo had 200 people onboard, but the hotel is a quarter full so checked the other hotels and some have 300 rooms with only 10 rooms occupied. How's yours?

Had no problem booking something at fairly short notice and no issues with flights either. Did think it was odd that a lot of the places we tried a month ago were still expecting top dollar prices. Got a good discount waiting a while. Will see how busy things are Saturday night. Not long haul though with a 2 year old.

I'm in goa (candolim) and the same can be said here. Many hotels with 'rooms available' signs and generally a lot quiter than 2 years ago.
Shows that though we don't always see it, there truly is a recession

Mrs Saleen has been looking for a short break in May to Turkey (Olu Deniz area) found quite a few through teletext holidys between £250-300 each for all inclusive in 4 star hotels, that includes transfers and baggage. I guess wait a bit longer and other destinations will be dropping prices!
