Back from skiing in Japan
Discussion
After getting an offer I couldn't refuse from a mate who's working out there I packed my bags and headed out for Japan for a Christmas on snow. He was working at Rusutsu but tried most of the other resorts within easy driving distance. I had heard of the famous powder and wasn't let down, sooooo much snow it was unreal. If you like deep powder and tree skiing then this is the place. Back country was endless but the pistes while generally well kept were short-ish and lacked any real challenge for piste skiers who like mileage.
Totally differnt experience to skiing anywhere else I've skied in the world, great food and locals but Rusutsu had very little in the way of apres ski.
