Hi All,

I am travelling America with a friend for a month in April, we looking to fly internally from LA to NYC stopping at various states. We are now booked up to Denver but want to havde a look around Colorado also.

Just wondering if anyone had any advice on pleace to stay. We are both mid 20s lookingfor somewhere with a good night life?

Popular places seem to be Colorado Springs and Beaver Creek, however we were not planning on doing any Skiing.

Any advice is appreciated.

Nope, the peoples republic wouldn't be my first choice. Somewhere downtown denver, reasonably close to Colfax would be a good choice. Though Colfax can be VERY seedy and dodgy in places; use common sense.

The Brown Palace Hotel in dowtown denver is an amazing place to stay (but quiet expensive), BUT you can stay at the Comfort Inn which is linked to the palace for half the cost but then use all of the Palaces facilities, plus puts you right in the centre of downtown. As for Colfax AVOID at night as can be very rough.

But if you're a petrolhead then check out Denver Specialty on East Colfax its a proper hot rod shop (owners name is Tom who's a real cool guy).

Try the Queen Ann B & B, I've used it a couple of times. A bit more expensive than a hotel but worth it and with in a ten mins walk of the main down town shopping area.
