Hire Car - Geneva
Discussion
Can anyone recommend the best value place / website to hire a car from Geneva airport in March?
Just picking up and then driving to Val D'isere and the car will be stationery for 10 days until I return it.
2 adults, 2 kids plus snowboard gear, so an estate I would imagine
I have tried direct with Hertz etc but they seem expensive.
Thanks

There is no such thing as cheap car hire in Geneva. We did similar recently, and it worked out to be easier and more cost effective to book a transfer. We used 3Valleys but there are plenty out there.
Thanks. I have 2 young kids (2 year old and 10 month old) and don't fancy a 3 hour coach journey with them hence the attraction of the car so we can stop on the journey if we need to.I was hoping there maybe a discounted agent to go through but looks like I will have to bite the bullet and cough up the £500.
I used these guys for a few days last week. Found them through holiday autos but they seems to be considerably cheaper than the others.

Cars aren't brand new like most of the others (think they are Hertz cast offs) but we got a very decent Zafira for £100 less than some of the others wanted for 4 days.

One thing about Geneva Airport and car hire....the aiprort has a Swiss and French part to it.....make sure you know which "side" of the aiprort you are flying into. Most flights from the UK fly into the Swiss side but I believe there are a couple that fly into the French side.
If you are flying into the French side I would still hire a car from the Swiss side (it's easy to walk through the airport to the other country)....cars from the French side do not come equipped with snow tyres or chains at least they never used to. I found this out to my cost once.......I was not happy. I had to run to the local garage to buy some snow chains when we were about to come home....not good.
