Apologies, I cannot find a definitive answer.. Can you carry on ski boot bags on to BA long haul flights (Colorado)? The BA web site says pack them in your carry on allowance! Google has a multitude of experiences.. So, can you carry on boot bags or not? Any actual experience with this please?

Seems to be a bit of a grey area really with most airlines. FWIW I've travelled with BA and my mate took his boots as carry on. I take my own skis and you can fit a huge ammount in those bags so I always just fire my boots in my suit case and take the usual carry on.

I say wear them on the plane..... wink

I noticed plenty of folk carrying on boots on the BA flight back from Geneva last month.

As long as your boots are within the carry on dimensions and weight limit, there's no rule to say you can't.

Not sure WHY you'd want to carry the big heavy things around with you though...

Can't say for BA, but with other airlines, it seems to be at the discretion of the check in staff!

I flew out to Geneva with SleazyJet from Bristol a few years ago - skis, boots, 1 x luggage bag. Check in staff insisted I packed boots in my one main bag and wasn't allowed to take them as carry on. On the way home, the Sleazy Jet check in staff let me check my boot bag separately in with my main bag but still wasn't allowed to use it as carry on.

Each way.

Is anyone going with a big roller Snowboarding bag, maybe you could stash them in there ? You can get away with murder with those.

(Literally, you could stash a body in one !)

Do you have a huge suitcase then?

We always just include ours as part of luggage allowance, even on charters.

Oh, just checked seems BA only allow one - That's rubbish...

I travelled two weeks ago with BA to Geneva and carried my boot bag as hand luggage both ways with no questions asked!
