Hi guys,
The mrs is pretty sick of me banging on about Austria and how great it is that she's decided she wants to go. She doesn't like the cold but fancies a summertime long-weekend there. I've tried seaching all the major airlines but no one seems to fly there in the summer months bar BA who are extortianate or KLM on a 15 hour 3 stopper!!!

If I could fly from Bristol or Cardiff it would make things much easier. Heathrow maybe at a push. Any ideas?

thanks

Does it HAVE to be Salzburg for some reason?

Innsbruck's close and probably has more flights.

Ive been in the summer and loved it

I flew to Munich (spent a couple of days there, its a cool city) then got the train to Salzberg. Dont remember how much it was, it wasnt expensive and the journey was pretty special. Tunnels through the mountains etc, cows in the fields with bells on. It couldnt have been more stereotypically Austrian if it tried

I'm going in the summer, flying out to Salzburg from Gatwick, and getting the train to Munich to fly back to Heathrow. The train looks like it takes a stunning route.

Flights were reasonably cheap with BA too.

In March we flew to Munich for a couple of days, then trained it to Salzburg for the very reason that the flights are daft money to Salzburg, and I refuse to fly Ryanair. Spent 4 days there, then back to Munich for a night , and back home. Bloody fab trip.
