Hi

Does anyone have any experiences to share?

Thinking about this as an option for a wedding anniversary night away.

Cheers smile

I'd go for one of the first 2, depending on if you want a larger hotel or not. Heard good things about both. Also heard pretty good comments on the Future inn (but it's a little less romantic!).

I've stayed in the St Davids a few times (including my wedding night) and it's very nice, if not a bit sterile feeling. Nice bar, small spa pool, nice balconies with views over the bay

St David's is the nicest one in the bay.

Do you need to stay right in the bay? If you can travel 5-10mins from the bay to Penarth then I would try here http://www.holmhouse.com/ it is a small hotel (10 rooms I think), good food and worth the bit extra that you may pay

I tried for a romantic weekend away in the St Davids. It wasn't what I (or she) had in mind. There was nothing particularly wrong, but it was a bit bland, the spa isn't all that special, and we had a hell of a job getting served in the bar during early evening.

Striking location, and the room was ok, though.

St Davids it pretty overated in opinion, nice landmark building but dull as ditchwater inside. I rather save a few £££ and stay in nice room overlooking the Castle in the Hilton.

Yup, I've stayed in the Hilton a few times as well, and that is nice.

I would avoid both if there is an international rugby game on (unless you like rugby)
