Evening all.

I'm off to Tunisia in under 2 weeks and have just learned we may need to get some jabs.

We booked the holiday and were told nothing about needing jags although i know the onus should be on me to never believe a word these people say.

So, I'm not so worried about me but i have a three year old. She is up to date with her jabs though but just need to check if anyoneon here went and had to get anything?

I will of course call GP in the morning.

David.

We have been to Tunisia seven times now and never needed jabs. Just make sure you have decent insurance and mosquito repellent. Also go with an open mind, brochures show exagerated pictures.

Seven times! Be very interested to hear your views?

We are staying in one of the large 'Holiday Villages' and don't intend on going out much but wouldn't like to miss something interesting.

Here's the official travel advice. Just for a "belt and braces", talk to your insurer and make sure they don't have any requirements over and above the FCO advice; you wouldn't want to be caught out.

We went a few years back and had Hep A and Typhoid if I remember rightly.

Sanitation is a bit lacking, so that's probably why the increased risk.

If you don't have vaccs then I'd recommend fastidious hand cleaning and careful choosing of food/restaurant.

You already have done on 06.03.2012 when you first posted about going there.
I would still go back but after what happened there the last time my wife is not keen on leaving these shores again just yet, but that is a totally different topic. Hence the insurance must have.
