Do you mean Supercars or just something quick?

If you want something which falls into the 'Exotic' range, you'll probably have to say which City.

Avis will happily rent you a Corvette and all the Muscle Cars are available Nationwide if that helps?

Where exactly? Hertz have a decent range at a variety of popular tourist destinations.

Depends on your budget but I always go for a convertible Mustang. OK car, good fun & space for cases etc. Do not let them pass you off with a Chrysler Sebring. yuck

Don't get a Mustang. There is more to car rental in the US than a Mustang smile. It always amazes me how no one in the uk appears to be able to see past that car! As mentioned thought the forum, hertz and Avis do the v8 fun cars, so get one of them. Flyertalk is a good forum for car rental info.

Challenger if you want a muscle car. Perfect road trip car, less muted than the Camaro, feels like an old friend as soon as you get in, and..well just look at them.

Otherwise, take a look at 'vettes, great mile munchers, plenty of fun to be had too. Unless you've got a thing about mustangs, I wouldn't bother personally, they're not bad though.

...except that a 5.0 Mustang will out-everything (sprint, handle, brake and grip) both the Camaro SS and Challenger R/T. I was never much of a Mustang fan until I drove one for a while.
The Dodge is by far the more sedate of the trio - it's only advantages are rear legroom (marginal), cylinder deactivation (who cares if you're on vacation) and good looks (subjective).

I am off to Florida next year and looking at what cars to get while I am there, and this (and the Mustang) is the one I am tempted with. The only ting is, the holiday is for 4 of us, Wife, Kids and me, do they have room for all the bags we will have for the airport runs? Any other time will not be a problem but only worried about the airport runs as we wouldnt want to get caught out and unable to get everything to the hotel.

You've no chance of getting four people and four cases into a Camaro.

Mrs BC and I regularly rent a Mustang Convertible. You can get one big case in the boot with space for 'carry on's' and 2 more big cases on the back seats. Can't see this being any use to you with 2 kids.

Your kids won't mind getting squished by luggage. It has a big boot anyway, get it and they'll love it as much as you!!

Sorry to bump, but I am looking at the Adreneline collection on the Hertz website and trying to find out exactly which locations the cars are at? Seems very confusing.

For example Camero/Challenger/Mustang are just unavailable if you try to choose a Chicago pickup and drop off at LAX (to what I would consider major rental locations in the US).

Is this something better discussed on the phone with the reservations guys in the US?

I don't think that you can have a different collection and drop off point with that range of cars. You have to return the car to the location where you rented it from.

I tried this with Hertz - you can't cross a state line is what they told me.

But I could say Hire in Vegas, do a massive loop across several states and then take it back to Vegas before flying home?
