where to go for missus 40th?

ideally spa type hol or weekend city break but pref under £600 so abroad at a stretch. she likes babington house style boutique places but theyre full as is barnsley house. not london as she works there. must be baby friendly too!

Ickworth House just outside Bury St Edmunds - great balance of great for the kids & really good adult spa hotel.

Bit of a trek for you but the Feversham Hotel in Helmsley is a great little boutique spa hotel.

I live locally so my O/H uses the spa a lot and rates it very highly. You also have a couple of local M starred restaurants, although the hotel sells very very good food; they're hunting for a star at the moment.

Local roads are some of the best driving roads in the country too.
