Chamonix mid September

Anybody been in mid September, is it still summer season or has snow started by mid September? What are the views like, is it lush and green or brown?

Been in August and it was spectacularly hot in the valley.
Very green, very beautiful and reasonably busy.
Skiers going up the Aigile though. We went up an it was -2 at the top, but 28 degrees in the valley!
Its a lovely place in the summer - I would have thought that the weather is beginning to tail off a little by mid September but, this year, who knows what it'll be like!

I've been early sept. arrived in the rain for one night as we were travelling to Italy. Left next day mid-20's and clear. Beautiful.
