right, slight issue
in a week i'm going to malaysia (via dubai).
Getting prepared I noticed on the e-ticket that it says "at check-in you may need to present the credit card used for payment of this ticket"

problem is that I used my father's card at the to book as I didn't have the readies at the time. He won't be traveling with me however!
Now as can be expected for such an important organisation, emirates' website is bloody vague about this.
FAQ states
emirates said:
On the Enter billing information page where the credit card details are entered, if the "Cardholder name" can be typed in, you would be able to pay for the booking even if you are not travelling. If the "Cardholder name" appears in a drop-down menu and cannot be changed, you would unfortunately not be able to pay for the booking unless you are travelling.
if memory serves, I could enter his name as cardholder... however the confirmation email didn't mention him in the billing. not 100% sure though. It goes on to say that in some countries it is a necessary security procedure to have the card.

so what the fk do i do? worst comes to worst I take his card?

help!

I don't know the answer but would assume that it's just proof you have the physical card. As long as you have another credit card proving who you are, i doubt it will be an issue. Surely the worst that can happen is they refund your dad's card and charge your other card?

Only once was I asked for the card that I paid for the flight with and that was Lufthansa - years ago. I really can't see it'll be an issue if you think how many people travel on tickets purchased by an employer or other third party. What happens if you lose the card after the booking? Or booked 9 months ago and the card has expired and been replaced? Don't think they've thought this one through!

No problem. It's always wise to check with PH so we can speculate instead of contacting someone who actually knows the answer. wink
