Colleague and I need to be in London on Monday for work and pleasure.

I refuse to pay £110 for a 90 minute journey for two people into London, especially as the direct trains from Kent to Charing Cross have been Olympicised and now go to "Stratford International" instead (!).

The Olympic Torch is passing Lewisham just when I need to drive through it.

So I'm considering we drive to London on Sunday, spend the night in a hotel, leave the car there during Monday until after 6pm, thus saving £10 congestion charge.

With fuel at £30, I'm looking for a £90ish central London hotel including parking, to break even. Ideally West End/Bloomsbury.

Any suggestions please?

rofl

I recently sent a couple of my team to an industry awards night in London.

A dingy hotel with mould on the walls and no facilities at all was around that money... so I think you'll be out of luck.

Last trip I made to London, I used the Premier Inn at Euston - it was £130 / night with parking extra and strictly limited availability.

I was walking by the Holiday Inn at Russell Square and they advertised parking for like 20 quid I think for 24hrs, dont know if its cheaper or free if you stay there.

Good luck with that.
Your looking for two singles or a twin incl parking for £60 then £30 for fuel.

Your looking at the start of school holidays and so so close to the Olympics that even if there's are usually you'll have no chance now as those prices would be much higher.

Yes, I do. Which is why the OP isn't going to find much in budget - as he specifically asked for this Sunday.

Yep a huge ask frankly.
Also at the end of the day this is a business cost and the rail cost isn't mega so just accept it or choose to do the business meeting elsewhere?
