So, I'm on the hunt for lively pubs n b&b's in the middle of knower to note down for future.. If they even exist that is!

Plan would be to just run off spontaneously for the night after work (last minute) on a Fri/Sat with the missus in the Caterham (once re-built), to a nice lively place to get pished, have a laugh and finally a place to lay our heads until the next day. Maybe even make a weekend of it in a couple different places.

Bit of a small adventure if anything with the bare essentials! smile

So yea, looking for places in either South of Scotland - North of England that are decent lively pubs deep in the country! Anyone know of any!?

Cheers.

Try the highest pub in England- Tan Hill. Plenty of good roads in the area, and on the cusp of the Dales, Northern Pennines and Lake District.

In the lakes, Kirkstone Pass Inn. Say it's 3rd highest in the UK and some great driving/scenic roads to take in.
