Contemplating a train instead of car on Wednesday - travelling to London at Peak, and then back from KK up north mid-afternoon?

What are the stations like at the moment?

Saw some crazy Olympic predictions which make me cautious despite the crazy prices....

I head into Liverpool St every morning(circle line through Paddington and Kings cross )and it hasn't been that bad, not much different from normal. The evening trains have been a fair bit busier though.

Sadly cannot measure a building from home so travel it is. Other option is driving to ilford, which I'm also not keen on!

I've done Essex to Liverpool Street as well as Kings Cross a couple of time over the past two weeks and is no problem whatsoever. Most of the games commuters seems to be travelling later in the morning and later at night.

if you're driving from Yorkshire, I'd head for Cambridge or Stansted and grab a train direct into Liverpool Street from there, then you'll not need to change to the underground at KK.

I travelled through King's Cross, St. Pancras twice today, to and from the Olympic Park in Stratford. Once at 7am and returning at 2pm.

Seemed quieter than usual if anything.

I travelled to the Olympics saturaday and friends did the same journey last week and its been quieter IMO than a "normal" commuter day.
It gets busy at Stratford but then it still moves.

Well, this happened this week... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/olympics/news/945...

Every day, one of the lines or major stations has been knackered. This morning it's the Piccadilly Line's turn ("Severe Delays - Due to an ealier signal failure at Acton Town"). But when it's 'normal' it's generally quieter smile

Cheers chaps. Train it is. On some antibiotics at present with some unpleasant side effects that make the nearness of a toilet on a train rather attractive.

I did consider Stanstead, but I still have to go in to Liverpool St and change. Not worth the hassle.
