hello,

my 70 year old mum is going to australia for four months and I'm looking for travel insurance for her,
no sky diving or extreme sports cover required! . .

she is in good health and has been a couple of times before in the last 5 years with no problems.

I'm struggling to find her cover at a sensible price, can anybody recommend anyone?

thanks . . straker

Can't speak personally, but SAGA? I normally use AXA, as they have a good reputation for paying out. Been lucky so far though!

It's not easy, they do load the elderly, the problem comes when you reach 80, that's the cut off point for most standard policies. My mum pays through the nose now she is in her 80's and has to renew every year or trip. She now goes through a local high street broker who are able to get her a better deal and do all the leg work, maybe try that instead of looking on line?

I got a good deal for my mum and dad when they went to N Zealand. Dad was 70 at the time. Went with American Express (not the card, but bought direct) Wasn't a silly price.
