I visit London fairly often, (live in Canada) but usually do the theatre/restaurant/art gallery stuff when I am there. Last time I visited the London Transport Museum, (mildly disappointing), but wondered if there are any suggestions for convenient museums/showrooms or anywhere I might indulge my automotive appetitesmile. I will be there for a week in mid.Oct.....

It's out by the M25, so possibly a bit far for you, but the Brooklands museum is, I think, pretty good.

I could manage anything reasonably accessible by train as I will not be hiring a car (no point..staying in the Park Lane which is pretty central ).......

It's practically next door to Weybridge train station (25 mins from Waterloo)

I'm not sure why anyone would want to go to Ace's Cafe other than for a car meet.
Exactly that.
I assume the OP has an interest in cars, he may just look on the Cafes website event guide and see something coming up that is his 'cup of tea' as it were.

This is what he asked....

"but wondered if there are any suggestions for convenient museums/showrooms or anywhere I might indulge my automotive appetite

Whilst the Ace isn't all things to all men, I'd say it's mildly more interesting in an automotive sense than say, 'The London Transport Museum'

Hope that's ok with you.

Imperial War Museum is pretty good and quite apt for a Pher. Having a coffee between 5pm and 7pm in the little cafe by the Harrods pick up point is also a treat on a Friday. Some incredible exotica showing off.

I lived in London for a few years a long time ago, and never visited it. I will give it a look. Thanks!
