Next year there is a group of around 20 of us all hitting 30 so decided on a lads weekend booze weekend to Berlin.

So everyone's been booking flights, the smart ones got in early where returns' were around £40, it's currently now around the £90.

I was one of the smart ones... or so I thought...

It materialises that in all my wisdom I booked the out flight on the wrong day, now realising that means my car park fee's, hotel etc don't match up I rang up EasyJet expecting to be ripped off and having to resign to booking another flight on the correct day / date.

None-the-less it was 100% my fault so although annoyed I only had myself to blame.

Rang up the customer services and christ they were fantastic. They removed the admin fee's, understood my honest mistake, moved my flights and charged me £4 difference for the flights at the time of booking.

I'm always quick to have a moan / rant when poor service and care is given but this time I felt it was worthy of a praise for the way they dealt with what was 'my' mistake for which if they so wished could of told me tough and read me the terms and conditions I'd ticked the box for the cancellation or changes policy. However they didn't.

Thanks EasyJet you surprised me! budget flight but felt I had premium customer care.

Same thing with Norwegian, similar business model, but surprising customer service.

Easyjet are moving away from the ferrying scum around image. Slowly.

i am surprised at that.

last week i wanted to change an easy flight to the one earlier in the day. it was cheaper to buy a new ticket [120euro] than pay the admin charges [140 euro]

Credit where credits due! It's not often you hear praise when it should be due, especially when you expected the worst! Tell the missus you were charged a full cost of the new flight to transfer and top up your beer fund wink Win - Win situation in my eyes!

Back when my missus was pregnant we had a scare before boarding an early morning easyjet flight and had to go to hospital instead of a plane to Spain. The easyjet staff were lovely; they sorted everything for us and told us that if everything was ok to come back in the evening and they would get us on the late flight.

After a nerve-wracking day we were given the all clear and easyjet were as good as their word.

Which was a far-far nicer experience than flying with a certain Irish 'airline' a couple of months after... which I have never used since.

Easyjet's problem, in my opinion, is that they have been tarnished with the RyanAir brush. I'm not going to pretend they are the poster boy for customer service (although the OP's story is heart-warming!) but they are streets ahead of RyanAir. I don't think 'Airport' did them many favours either, as the programme would always show the most extreme examples of poor service (or bad customers!) to make viewing more entertaining.

Easyjet are a quality organisation with motivated well trained crew and well maintained aircraft. They're ahead of ryanair but when ryanair are your main competitor, you have to reduce costs somehow to compete with their shoddy practices. As long as people fly with Ryanair and book tickets purely on price all the better airlines will continue to become more and more like them.

All operations have to balance cost against service provided - I have no problem with Ryanair when there's not other choice or a big price difference, but will always pay the few quid extra for Easyjet - I don't want to pay for an in-flight meal or any other frills, but I do want to have a relatively comfotable, hassle-free experience...

For all the talk people make of 'all' the budget airlines constantly making money by flogging lottery tickets etc, I do find EJ tread the line nicely - flew back from Ibiza on a late one on Saturday night and they let everyone sleep without being pestered for most of the flight... There was a problem upon landing (plane arrived early and no baggage handlers available for half an hour) and the usal 'knob crowd' started piping up about how they'd never fly EJ again, despite the problem appearing to be nothing to do with the airline!

I have flown with EasyJet probably over 100 times & have never had any issues with them.

Never had a problem with them staff-wise, but some of the terminal designs they use are not well thought out.

Geneva airport is a good example of a bonkers check-in layout

I know they have to work with what the airport has provided, but a little more thought could be applied sometimes

I've definitely had better service all the way from Easyjet than Ryanair. My sister and I were once too late for a morning flight to Spain and the (really fit) girl on the check in desk just moved us to the evening flight for nothing. We spent the day at the V&A and caught the later flight. Excellent.

Caroline McCall has been moving Easy closer to regular airline service since she joined as chief executive two years ago. They're introducing allocated seating next month.

I like to look at Easyjet as the Lidl/Aldi of airlines. And Ryanair as Poundland.

My in laws have just tried to change an EasyJet flight to Geneva to one 2 hours later in 4 months time, having booked the wrong flight one way.

£45 per person to change it.

I will not book Ryanair unless there is no real alternative. Easyjet on the other hand - is pretty reasonable. I booked my family holiday flights earlier this year, and realised I got the return flights wrong by the month about 10 mins after booking - rang them up explained the situation, guy says it sounds like a genuine mistake, and I called back straight away to rebooked the flights for me at no extra cost other than the minor difference in flight costs. Was very happy with the fair response.

Anyone hear about that family who turned up for their dream holiday only to discover they were one year early! hehe

It wasn't EasyJet but did make me chuckle.

Must admit, easyjet are getting it right most of the time.

I had to do a name change for clients the other day with BA. They flatly refused, as per their t and c's and issued a refund of taxes only. At least easyjet will do it for a charge.
