Currently thinking about a week in Goa this November, what are the waves like? Bit bored of going in really still waters like the med. Thai beaches never have waves either.

Not for surfing and don't want anything too extreme!

Prob only for a week too so can't be too far away!

Cheers

You are quite wrong about Thai beaches and waves.
Just do your research and go to the right place at the right time if year.

We had big(ish) waves in Krabi in June.

Just back from Gran Canaria, went on a bit of a trip around the coast on water and the swell was very surprising!

Furteventura is very popular with surfers. Serious mid Atlantic waves breaking on both the west side of the island at El Cotillo and in the north east at Corralejo. Sea will be cold - you'll need a wetsuit. Epic beaches and good weather too.

Hawaii has huge waves at that time of year. If you go in December you will see some of the biggest on earth. The waves break on the beach at 3ft high and get bigger in the evenings as the tide comes in. I'm 16st and I was thrown about and ended up breaking a toe on one occasion and losing the skin on my side on another just a couple of meters of beach.

Is that what you are after? You will also see whales from the roads which is impressive.

The hawaii waves sound amazing, always wanted to see those stupidly big waves. However much big to swim in.

I remember Florida having decent waves when younger but looking for somewhere different.

Waves just need to be big enough to buggy board / dive infront of them and they push yo to shore etc,

I love Hawaii. I can fly from my house in NJ direct in about 10 hours. Just make sure you get away from Honolulu as it is like Blackpool. The north shores have the biggest waves with all the world class surfers in December. The weather is 82 degrees and nice. I rode a bike from the top of a volcano to the ocean over 40 miles and hardly turned a pedal.

If you are wanting to go to Goa don't forget to apply for a visa. You have to apply for one now because it takes forever to get one.You also have to send your passports off aswell, which is a bit too much hassle for a weeks holiday, and a bit scary sending by post.Oh,i nearly forgot the £100 each you have to pay,and it only lasts 6 months from the time you apply.....rip off!Ours had taken 5 weeks to come through. That was 3 years ago now,the price no doubt has gone up!
