Hello guys, I want to get away for a long weekend in the UK and am wondering what places I should be considering? I'm in the Midlands, but don't mind travelling. We've been to Bournemouth, Weymouth, Brighton, Portsmouth, Newquay, Padstow before, so probably somewhere different.
I've had St Davids in Wales recommended, plus Wollacombe. I don't want to go anywhere like Skegness/Blackpool, want to go somewhere that's a bit nicer and quieter rather than somewhere to get bladdered as we'll be going as a couple.
Ideally somewhere we can relax, look at nice scenery, have some good meals and go out to do stuff in the day. Doesn't even have to be too crazy, but anywhere where we can maybe jump on the bikes, go powerkiting and generally explore about would be nice. We both like looking at old buildings/ruins and that sort of thing. I quite like the idea of being close to the sea although it's pretty cold now, but I'm easy going about location really, there's just a lot in the UK so if anyone has any ideas that would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance, get your ideas in!

Well the Cotswolds are right on your doorstep? Stow-on-the wold, Burford, Chipping Campden, etc. Beautiful place.

Or North Norfolk if you really want the beach? Anywhere along the coastal road between (but not necessarily including) Hunstanton and Cromer is great.

Has to be Scotland, Edinburgh if you fancy a city break and options to numerous to mention if you want the out doors etc. honestly I would be up this direction every six weeks if I lived on the mainland, stunning place.

North Wales - Conwy's nice for long weekend. Or as suggested earlier, Edinburgh and/or the East Neuk of Fife & St Andrews.

I'm just back from the Isle of Skye and it would tick all your boxes but possibly too far for a long weekend?

Penhelig Arms Aberdovey?

Only spent one night there but it was very good. Food was superb. The menu we had was typed up that morning when they knew what they were getting in.

Took wife to the isle of man for her birthday last year for a long weekend. Not too far as boat does most of the work. Not that cheap though. But was worth it.
