Right, this came up at work today.

Guy at work has a Daughter, who's never flown.

They're unlikely to be going on any holidays soon, and he thought about getting a cheap flight for them both.

Based in Edinburgh, so a flight from there/Glasgow preferrably.

Any suggestions?
London, Dublin ?

They do both have passports i believe.

Thanks to airport departure tax there really isn't such a thing as a cheap flight any more.

However, skyscanner.net would be a great way to find cheap flights. Stick in Edinburgh, add a destination country and see what it can find!

Belfast is probably the shortest flight and NI have control of their Air Passenger Duty so the UK government only take one gulp of tax from the fare.

Ask at the local flying club. You'll likely get someone happy for you to pay for the fuel and the girl can probably sit at the front, maybe even get a go on the controls. Anyway, a way better experience than going through security and getting an over wing aisle seat on a day return trip to Belfast.
