Cheapest way to get to Vegas for a week (flying) in May 2013
Discussion
1, Avoid half-term week, and also any American public holidays (Veterans day?).
2, Consider a connection, rather than a direct flight. eg, flying with AA via ORD / DFW or DL via ATL or UA via lots of hubs or LH via FRA or KL via AMS or AF (if you're feeling lucky) via CDG is likely to be cheaper, but take longer than flying direct with BA or VS.
3, Avoid half-term week.
4, Check out packages, which may work out cheaper than booking flight and hotel separately.
5, Avoid half-term week.
6, Either book as early as possible, or wait for the airlines' January sales. Don't leave it to the last minute.
7, Whatever you do, avoid half-term week

We used Delta via a stop in Detroit last year...we did book flights and hotel together but it was only £615pp. This was also in May. We just called up Dial-A-Flight and they did the rest.
Best price on Dial A Flight right now is £564pp - which I know is the Delta flight as I just checked their website.
The one stop isn't too bad to be honest.
Good luck, well worth it
