Myanmar - anyone been?

Heading to Myanmar (Burma) in a couple of weeks and just wondered if any PHers have recently visited?

We'll get our visas at the embassy in Bangkok and plan to fly Air Asia from there.

I'm interested to know how people found accommodation/transport bookings, how far in advance should we book and how easy is it? Would our 7-10 day trip need to be fully booked in advance, or is that too much?

The only other thing is regards money. How strict is the average vendor about having crisp, new US$ notes? I'll get a selection of new notes, big and small, in Bangkok just to be safe I guess!

Any advice, experiences, tips would be really useful.
