Climbing Kilimanjaro
Discussion
I researched this a fair bit last year and http://www.peakplanet.com/ is the only bookmark I can find which was on my shortlist.
Safety was a big part of my search, If I dropped with HAPE or HACE I wanted to know I would be in good hands.
There's literally hundreds of operators in the area so it can be a bit of a minefield. I spent an age trawling forums and reading reviews, the rule of thumb was to avoid the cheap operators and find a good mid-priced company.
Hopefully I might manage it one day, that or a trek in the Himalayas.

Thank you all for the advice and other forum discussions. Been busy so will read and absorb all the info tonight. I have suffered and learnt about acute altitude sickness the hard way - driving in one day from 2,000 metres to over 5,500 metres in a four wheel drive vehicle in a mining expedition in the Pamir Mountains years ago!
