Good pub with B&B in North Essex or Cambs

Hey all,

we have to be in Linton, Cambs next Saturday and thought we'd stay over for the night. Can anyone recommend a nice pub with rooms (y'know, a traditional sort of place with comfy armchairs and a rustic feel to it - preferably that also serves good hearty fayre!).

Red lion at Hinxton has rooms, good beer and food.

+1 for the Red Lion at Hinxton. 6 of us stayed there for a weekend last year when we visited Cambridge. Good location and short trip to the Cambridge Park & Ride service.

I used to drink in the Red Lion of a Friday lunchtime when I worked nearby, can thoroughly recommend it.

There are a couple of pubs in Linton I remember vaguely going to as well, it's a nice village so can't imagine they would be bad - if you can make time for the zoo!
