mexico or cuba?
Discussion
I've been to Playacar in Mexico and Cayo Guillermo in Cuba.
Within the complexes, the hotels were almost identical, decent beaches, the food and drink plentiful but average.
Outside of the hotels and within a 20 mile radius, there's a lot more to do in Mexico with Chichen Itza, Tulum for relics, and waterparks and cenote (cave) snorkelling/diving fairly local.
Cuba obviously has Havana and I'd also recommend some of the smaller towns, Cienfuegos, Trinidad or Sancti Spiritus but they're a long way from the coast.
I'm not one for going back to the same place twice but given the choice, Mexico would win out.
