Having worked for BAA (though I no longer work for them) I would never leave my car with anyone other than the airport. 98% of non-airport run parking transactions are fine - these are where the recommendations come from... the other 2%...

What's the parking like at T5? I normally get a lift to the airport but thought valet parking would be the less hassle - nothing worse than having to start getting buses around the carparks after a 7 hour flight.

T5 Business car park. Self park and then take a pod to the main terminal. Simples

I parked my car at T5 short term in September for 7 days and it cost about £130 from the BAA website. So convenient no flaffing on pods, minibuses just walk to the terminal. Originally thought about valet parking but some good advice on here put me off.

It wont offer business if it is fully booked.. business is not short stay. Short stay booked on less than 48hrs notice is very often severely discounted to the same price as business.

There is BA valet parking on the T5 drop off level- far right, far end (by first class check in). They are the only valet place I would trust, after some particularly dodgy experiences with off airport ones in years gone by, but short stay or business is hard to beat.

Just like to echo what others have said, I would only use BAA valet parking or business parking which to be fair is pretty good but sometimes not that much cheaper than valet. I used a firm that rhymes with murple once in the Z4MC for valet parking and although the management sorted the issue admirably I`d just never use them again.

T5 short stay every time. Quick walk to terminal, same price as/or marginal difference to other car parks. On a good day walk is barely 200m to security!

They must be fully booked.

Go through to the booking page and it just offers long or short stay parking...

i would never use a valet... they basically take your car and park it on a road or a stty building site, screwing it there and back. Never wondered why they aren't cheaper than the fixed space car parks? I'd rather do that or get a taxi.

Parked in the long stay in the end at T5.

£100 ish and a 4 min bus ride to the terminal.

Very easy, landed at 6.50AM and in the office (the other side of the M25) before 9am!

Blimey I paid less than £90 for 3 weeks at the NCP for terminal 3. That's also only a 5 min bus ride away. Not much use for T5 I know but a hell of difference in price!!

This ^^ everytime pre-book via the BAA website only ime.

Do NOT use the valet, I've seen how some behave and where they park. For example a brand new GT3 parked on the end of a row and exposed to traffic circulating the car park. If that was your own vehicle then nobody in their right mind would have picked that spot.

I pre book through the BAA website and get a decent discount, I always use the short term parking at T5 and never Valet park. Had my sat-nav stolen by Purple Parking once so stopped using them. I use it most weeks so also use a BAA card and the points soon build up and a fist full of £5 vouchers is always a nice little freebie.

or they had ferris buellered it around the city until it blew up and then had to send it there to get fixed.
