My partner and I get married September 2013 and our first child is due January 29th 2013, before anyone says anything, I asked her to marry me before gettin her knocked up lol

Anyway, we really wanted to have 3 weeks in Australia but I think realistically the cost will be too great, probably 6k before spending money, which is nearly as much as the wedding. So we are considering alternative places, thought I'd ask here for suggestions!

Any suggestions must be suitable for a baby, so trekking through the rainforests or an African safari obviously are out!

Cape Town...although September is a bit early....November is better.

We went there on holiday when our son was six months old. The absolute massive plus is that there is only one hour's time difference and the flights are overnight....leave London 9 or 10pm and are twelve hours so plenty of time for little people to sleep.

If you don't want to do that I would certainly think of somewhere else in Africa or the Middle East....minimising the jet lag will make your honeymoon much, much better. Oz would be a total nightmare IMHO...fantastic place that it is.

I'll have a look into Cape Town, thanks for the suggestion.

Thought about Canada as well, Montreal, Quebec City, Ottawa and Toronto, reasonable flights and plenty to see and do.

Honestly if you can I would avoid five hours of jet lag....it could take your baby quite a few days to get over it in each direction.
