Looking for Nice retreat for New Year's Eve
Discussion
I'm looking to spend a few nights away over New Years. Maybe up to 5 days. We're located near manchester, so I was thinking lakes/Wales or anywhere within 3 hours ish. There's 2 couples and a baby. Something like a log cabin, or cottage etc. maybe somewhere to have a pub meal nearby, or self catering . Just somewhere to get away.
Admittedly , I've not looked that hard, but the ones I've fancied have been booked up. Wondered if anyone had anything, knows someone who does, or can even suggest somewhere. I'd prefer to bring a small dog, but not so worried if not.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Cheers

We did Reeth (North Yorkshire) last year, stayed in a pub (dire) and cold, and come New years eve, the locals thought we were mad, trying to party, to them it was just another night in't pub.
Tan Hill (highest pub in England) has a famous New Years lock-in mind. Thats probably a laugh !

firstly why did you capitalise the N in Nice, i thought you meant France... secondly I have had the same idea for a couple of years now and have come to the conclusion that unless you want to go for a week, pay a fortune, and get it all booked in about April you may as well forget it
North East of Scotland? Not exactly 3 hours away, but it is 100% worth the trip.
