Hi all,

I was hoping somebody who has been in a similar situation could help me. I am moving from the US to the UK in 3 weeks, and I want my US mobile number to forward straight to my UK phone. I don't want the US phone to do anything - I don't want to make calls from the number, or use data - I just want the calls to redirect straight to my UK phone.

Does anyone know how to do this? Had a quick Google but no joy. I don't particularly want to continue paying $x a month for a US contract that I won't be using!

Thanks,

S

Google voice wont allow you to forward to a non US number- i've tried. Ditto for US cell providers. Doesn't work the other way either- cant forward from a uk number to a non-uk one either.
If you do find some way, let me know- i have a US cell, a US google voice which forwards to that cell, and a uk cell and would love to be able to forward to whichever was appropriate at the time.

Skype is your friend. Get a US based online number and then set your US cellphone to forward to that number. Then forward the skype call to any UK mobile or landline number you want in the skype client.

I did exactly this with my UK mobile when I lived in Japan.
