5 days in the sun next week. Egypt?

Ive got just over a week off next week and need some sun. Have checked weather reports and the best place so far is Egypt (27-29 deg). Tenerife isn't too bad either, but might be partly cloudy (23 deg).

Is it safe to travel to Egypt (Sharm) at the mo? Obviously using common sense and not wondering around the cities without a care in the world...

If not, anyone have any other suggestions for pretty much guaranteed sun? Not too far. EU destinations.

were off to Egypt ( El Gouna ) next week .....Got to be a lot warmer than here -30c at the moment !!

The red sea is fine , no reports of any trouble ,

just avoid Cairo

Just back Saturday from a week in El Gouna, Egypt. 26 degrees and sunny every day. Thoroughly recommended and some hotels are only half full and discounting heavily. No problems whatsoever locally although currently some peaceful protests in Cairo but you've no need to go there - fly direct to Hurghada on sleazy jet. PM me if you need more info.
