We are going to Paris by car in a few weeks. Since we have the car I thought it might be easiest to stay like in the outskirts where parking is not a problem and we then just catch metro into central Paris. Does anyone have any recommendations for places to stay which have parking and are easy to drive to ?

I can highly recommend Maisons Laffitte just to the west of Paris. I used to live there and know the area well. It can be easily reached from either the A13 or A16 motorways. The town is situated on RER Line 'A' that will take you direct into central Paris within 15-20 minutes where you can then connect to other RER and Metro lines. The train service is frequent with services every 10 minutes or so.

The only hotel is the Ibis which is about a 10 minute walk from the station. Its in a quiet part of the town with its own private and free parking. The hotel has just recently been fully extended and refurbished with new reception, bedrooms and bar area. The staff are also really friendly. I always stay there on my return visits - and would also highly recommend a walk in the Parc if you get time.

We've used Etap at the Porte de Bercy a few times and the car park's indoors. It's cheap, clean and easy to get into the City on the Metro.
