Best drive to Italy from Western France in a TVR Chimaera

I have driven from my home in France to Italy before but always on business so have taken the most direct route. Considering driving down to Umbria next year and wondered if anyone had any tips on the most interesting/scenic route to take. I will have 3 week window for the trip.
Yes, I know it is a TVR and yes I have breakdown cover!! Will probably go end May/June.

Snake all the way along the Alps then into the Dolomites then down the west coast off Italy.

And if you go in June hopefully you will see me coming over the alps in the opposit direction
