Thinking of heading down to London on the train this Saturday.

Train will be busy I'm sure but the usual Oxford St. and tourist places - do-able or a crowded nightmare?

Oxford Street and other tourist areas will be rammed on any weekend. A bank holiday weekend will be worse.

Do you particularly want to visit Oxford Street? The shops are really no different to any large shopping centre unless you have a burning desire to visit Selfridges. There are lots of other things you could do if you're not set on shopping, check out Londonist's daily emails for stuff to do on any given day.

I genuinely can't think of anything worse than missioning it around Oxford/Bond Street on a bank holiday.
