Afternoon all

I'm currently trying to organise car hire in America this May for a V8 roadtrip. The plan is to land in LA, pick up a Camaro SS and drive around (San Francisco, Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas etc.) for a week before ending up back in LA and swapping the Camaro for a Corvette for the last couple of days before flying home.

I've got a quote from the Exotic arm of Enterprise but it includes no insurance cover, and to add insurance through them is a hefty whack more (about £800 more for the 9 days). Is this normal?

I did have a look at insurance4carhire.com but they specifically exclude "High performance, prestige or exotic vehicles (e.g. supercars such as Aston Martins, Ferraris and Lamborghinis)" from their cover so I think that rules them out. Do I have any options other than to go for the cover being offered by Enterprise themselves?

Be interested to hear from anyone with similar experiences.

Apologies if it's been covered before or if I've posted in the wrong forum...

Very unusual for a US car hire site not to include all the insurance when you put in that you're from the UK.

Hertz don't seem to have any decent cars available for the dates we are going (which I found odd).

dunno where your checking for hertz ,only major airports and citys will have the cool stuff , maybe try a few other locations that are within a small drive for you , could always pick up a cheapo and drive it to another location

if you do find hertz then use quidco for some cashback

Had decent cars from National & Enterprise in the US in the past.
