Hi
As there are a couple of threads going about the bad side of airport parking.
I'm travelling in December from terminal 5 i've not had to use airport parking for a while so whats the best company to use.
I'm after parking from early on the 9th returning on the afternoon of the 13th.
I hope this does not fall foul of the name and shame rules.
Thanks
Dave

Short term at T5, book early and you will get a discount. Drive straight in, park, walk to check-in desk. Zero hassle and worth whatever extra it costs.

Just go to the Heathrow website and get a quote. Prices range from high to lower depending on travel time to the terminal. Pre-booking saves money as has been said.

This is the correct answer, all others are wrong. 2nd choice just in case it comes out with an odd quote, T5business pods.

We did the pods for the first time last week. It was splendid, the small boy really enjoyed it.

Not cheap.

Reeds are great. 5 minute transfer in a Transit and cheap if you book through APH.

I've used this site before and taken the recommended Valet options with no issue, they sometimes have discounted rates on 'pod' parking which is ace - http://www.gosimply.com/?gclid=CIHfzqyHncgCFUX4wgo...

Do read this though... http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

What would it cost to get a cab instead of using you own car or taking the train?

I agree short stay is the answer.
Best bet is to go down a couple of levels from the entry level, there are far more spaces when you go down and you have to go down to exit when you return anyway. Also if you park close to the exit instead of by the lifts there is so much more room and less chance of a door bump - makes the walk about 30 seconds longer though

Actually this also is the correct answer, I always go down a couple of levels, always quieter and the time I Park usually able to find a nice quiet corner space tucked away. It adds a bit of time on departure as you have a but longer walk to the lifts and then go up to departures.

Just to add.... definitely the right answer.

Except you don't even always need to book early, just book online.

Park in the street in Hounslow.

Get the Tube to Heathrow.

Cost a couple of quid.

What can possibly go wrong?

Parked at T5 Business Parking (pre-booked) the other week. Very impressed. They have a fleet of Transporters and Vitos in sufficient quantity that they will be waiting at the stops in the car park and terminal and leave as soon as you get in and then drop you off right at your car on the way back.

From another thread:

http://garaged.com/services/airport-valet-parking/

Ran by a PHer and many people seem to rate the service very highly

Tube strike, signal 'failure', delays, tube not working at darker hours, etc.
Otherwise that's what I would do too, unless the parking is attractively priced.

That's exactly what I do. 20+ trips from Heathrow and I've never had any bother. Saved a fortune.

There's also a bus service which runs very frequently from (IIRC) 5am, if you catch it from any point past the Jolly Wagonner roundabout, it's free too!
Or consider Osterley, around Syon Park, lots of wide, safe suburban streets and a tube station/bus route to Heathrow-4 stops (ish).
