Ryanair crazy pricing...
Discussion
Looking at buying flights for a little holiday...
If I put in the details, and tell Ryanair that two of us will be travelling the pirce is £115 per person for the outward flight, and £57 for the return...

If I do the exact same details, but change it so only one passenger is travelling, the prices drop to £97 and £47 respectively!

How does this even make any sense!!
Is there anything stopping me just booking 2 x 1 passenger, rarther than 1 x 2 passengers...?

Ahh but can you get 2 at £97. Ryanair uses pricing bands and if there is only one seat at £97 and the next band was £133 then the average would come down to your original £115 for both seats.
Possibly this, which I hadn't thought of. I'm currently deciding how to precede, don't want to get caught out buying one ticket, then trying to get a second and somehow getting shafted. They're sneaky f

Best way to do this is to have 2 internet windows open and do as much in parallel. You'll soon see if you get both for 97- you should do if you initiate checkout within seconds of each one. Even if you don't, 97 + 115 is still cheaper than 2 x 115...A couple of years back mate and I booked flights for ourselves and wives from Gatwick to Madeira using TAP. We were also concerned about different pricing so we did exactly what has been suggested earlier: we were both on TAP's website at the same time and transacted together and hey presto, same price for the four of us! Once hour later the flights had increased by £300 per person!

I did as suggested, and did the two as close together as possible... I wasn't sure if I needed to use two different log ins... I didn't and the second payment wouldn't go through. Tried a few times, logged in on different ryanair account and it wouldn't budge.
Ended up getting channeled back to the selec flights page, where, yep, the prices had increase to the £115 and £57 price.
So I did save a bit, ended up paying £316 instead of the £115 and £57, x 2 which is £344... I'm not sure it was worth the stress, and now the anxiety that even though all the confirmation matches, that I've f
ked up and booked us on different flights!

A good friend of my younger son asked my kid to be his best man, when he married his Italian girlfriend, in Naples.
My kid jumped in feet first, learned his speech in Italian, until he was word perfect, then looked around for a flight.
I can’t be precise on the prices, but it came down to a direct flight from Stansted to Naples with RyanAir at around £145, or an Alitalia flight from London City to Naples, with a one hour, twenty five minute layover in Milan, for £205.
My kid said to another friend who was going, (my daughter-in-law couldn’t make it), nolo contendere, or no contest, who knows where you’ll land with RyanAir?
He had a ball, and went down a storm with the Italian guests when he did his speech in their language.

I'm one who has been with Ryanair (not RyanAir.....) over 100 times - never had a single problem. They've always been more punctual than Easyjet and, as long as you keep to their rules, there should be no problems. Many of those who complain have never even flown with Ryanair !A good friend of my younger son asked my kid to be his best man, when he married his Italian girlfriend, in Naples.

I've flown with them many times and have never had an issue.
In general, I have found Ryanair pretty cheap, especially off-season but the fares to Tenerife, this year, have definitely gone up quite a lot.
My only issue with Ryanair has been the way they change the times of the flights, at the drop of a hat. I got wise to this and now book airport parking for the whole of the days that the flights leave and land - usually the costs is the same anyway.

First off, apologies for misspelling Ryanair, I’ll go stand in the corner. My reasons for avoiding the airline, stem first from an early a.m. flight from Stansted to to what was laughingly described as Stockholm.
I asked if I could buy coffee or water from the F/A, she said no, but you can buy a vodka, at 07.15?, I don’t think so.
After landing at “Stockholm”, we had more than an hour bus ride to the real Stockholm.
Thinking I’d just been unlucky, I used the airline again a year later, to go to Faro, Algarve.
With no seating allocation, we were nearly killed in the mad rush when boarding was announced.
When we did get to the plane, there was shouting and screaming from what appeared to be the entire population of a traveller camp, as they’d been unable to find seats together.
My younger son arranged to meet his elder brother, when the elder brother was on vacation in Hamburg, Germany, at his German mother-in-law’s holiday apartment there.
Younger kid bought a flight with Ryanair to Hamburg, this was maybe 5 or 6 years back, it landed in Lübeck, some 70 kms, (42 miles), from Hamburg, hence his reason for giving them a wide berth ever since.
I don’t doubt for one minute that you and thousands of others think that Ryanair is okay, well I’m sincerely happy for you all, long may it stay that way, but for me, thanks, but no thanks.

The main airport (arlanda) isn’t right next to Stockholm either in fairness. My reasons for avoiding the airline, stem first from an early a.m. flight from Stansted to to what was laughingly described as Stockholm.
