Good places to visit in the UK for day-trips or weekends
Discussion
Evening all.
Given that I have the double joys of having my living room remodelled and buying my eldest a car this year, we're staying in the UK for holidays.
This then developed into a conversation around places to visit - either for a day trip or for a couple of days. Anything considers - theme parks to theatre, culture anything really.
We've visited quite a few places but always looking for something new that isn't cack - something that can sustain a day out. Any suggestions?

Depends what you like...
North Norfolk coast is nice. Snetterton has the BTCC in July.
Yorkshire dales has a lot to offer, you could mix walks, pubs with some nice cities (e.g. York) and a hill climb at Harewood.
Northumberland is pretty and more open, some stunning roads.
Dorset is a step back in time

North wales and the prisoner village.
Seconded - Snowdonia. I live about a mile from Portmeirion, and if you haven’t been you should go - simples. Then there’s the amazing roads with no traffic, the landscape, and of course the unique narrow gauge steam railways.See you soon
