Morning all

Looking at spending a week making use of our Merlin passes to get chance to explore Thorpe Park, Chessington and Legoland. Probably 2 days each at Thorpe and Chessington and 1 day at Legoland.

We're looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful to base ourselves from that means we aren't doing massive journeys all over the show, as much as is practical but not knowing this part of the country, where is best? Thinking an AirBnB or cheap chain hotel.

The Cobham/Oxshot area is nice (closer to Chessington WOA/Thorpe than it is Legoland) but not sure what accommodation prices would be like.

I have done this a few times, and have always stayed in the Holiday Inn in Sutton. I appreciate it is one end of your excursion route, and you will have a trek for Legoland, but it works well for us. In fact, thinking about it, we did Legoland on the way home at the end of holiday, so my recommendation might be utterly useless for you!

Bracknell area gives pretty good access to major routes to all your attractions .
Just far enough out to lower the accommodation premium but close enough for a fairly easy run to the attractions.
The only proviso is that any route to any of the attractions could gum up at any time .

As above, about 20 minutes to Legoland and a little longer to Thorpe Park. There are a couple of Premier Inn's and a Travelodge locally.

Agree on it being a good shout. Chessington is a little further away, but close to Legoland and Thorpe Park.

Staines? There's a new Premier Inn opening soon.

No where around that way is great (I live in Staines), but it's convenient for Thorpe Park, Legoland and Chessington (you could do the first 2 on public transport), not to mention getting into London and likely to be cheaper.

Plus there's a few cheap chain restaurants in town too for food afterwards.

Yeah definitely head into London on one of the days - you can do Tussauds, the Dungeons and the London Eye with your Merlin pass. But saying that, you'll probably be too knackered if your doing the parks as well!

Amazing - thanks so much for all the help guys, I'd have been lost otherwise.
