Renting something fast from mainstream companies

I've always fancied getting something good when we go to Majorca out of season; lots of great roads that are very quiet in the winter.

This year I've seen Sixt have an RS4 Avant that is ~ £600 for the week, 1400kms included. Obviously that's a lot, but given I have to pay ~ £200 for a week anyway to hire a family car, the man maths start to kick in.

Extra £40 to get the excess down to 1000€ from 4000€, no-brainer. I have my own car hire insurance too, bought online so that should add extra protection. Anyone done similar, and care to share their experience?

The OP is RENTING a car ABROAD, surely the original 'Holidays and Travel' forum is the best one to be in?
