Hi, I’m off for a night out in London and need somewhere secure to leave my work things (laptop etc) . The plan is to pick things up later that night before I catch the train home. Just need space for a rucksack. Any ideas?

You mean somewhere other than the Left Luggage place at St Pancras?

Don’t know as I’ve never used left luggage. Sounds like a place for lost bears?

My main concern is making sure my stuff is kept safe for a few hours.

There is a left luggage kiosk in St Pancras - just make sure it's open when you want to return.

Or the large hotel above will keep it for you if you are feeling cheeky.

As well as the opening times (if you're aiming for the last train out you might be disappointed with the potential for collecting your things) be aware that these days they employ almost airport levels of pedantic processes when checking your items in.
This is especially prevalent when considering storing electrical items as these will need to be shoved through the scanner separately. Fine for a laptop etc, but a right pain when you have to dig that rogue usb cable from the bottom of your suitcase.

? Never had to remove any chargers/wires, wife's hairstrightners from bags at airports before.

Only large electrical items with batteries usually, aka laptops
