Hi gents, booked Dubai with the family late February and wanted to know what you lot would recommend visiting around the palm area bearing in mind I have two young ones 6 and 3.

Things I’ve thought of are;

Atlantis aquarium
Atlantis waterpark
Ski centre
Burj Khalifa
Dubai Aquarium and water zoo
Spice souk market
Dolphin bay

We are only there for 6 nights so want to make sure we fit in the unmissable so if there’s anything I’ve missed please let me know

Many thanks

My 7 year old niece recently said Legoland was the best thing she had done when they stayed with us. It’s geared to 2-12 year olds so may be worth a look. (I took the older kids to Motiongate instead so cannot confirm her view). Easy to get to/from in a taxi.

We took the kids to Dubai last year and visited Legoland and Legoland Waterpark which they both loved (7 & 4). We're taking them again next year as it went down so well.

Also did Burj Khalifa which they enjoyed but in terms of value for money and enjoyment factor, Legoland and the waterpark were far better. And it wasn't mega busy like it is here!

Our kids enjoyed legoland, I said to the person on the payment desk it looked quiet and she informed me there were only 17 visitors in there. No queuing!!

The water park at the Atlantis is much better than the legoland water park however. Hours and hours of fun to be had there for all ages!

The fountain show at the foot of the Burj Khalifa is good.

Why not an (organised) day trip into the Desert.

We did one (plus an overnight) and it was great.

The Atlantis Palm is great for kids. the water park has it's own kiddy area and is great fun for them, lots to do.
The Aquarium is fantastic, there is also touching area where guides on hand to explain everything. Our two year old grandchild was mesmerised by it. There is very good free viewing area at the end of main lobby corridor.
Burg Khalifa is probably wasted on the youngest but a 6 year old will love it. Great lifts!!
You don't need to do the Dubai Aquarium if your staying at the Palm.
Spice market is good for a look at Arab life and kids should be fine - youngest will need a pushchair.
Also good boat trip around the Dubai Marina.

The palm has good restaurants for Kids as well.

Crikey, 6 posts in and nobody has slagged off Dubai, what's going on!

We're flying out tomorrow for a week, be nice to see the big yellow thing in the sky again.

Everyone has pretty much covered things to do, not a huge amount, but enough.

We are there again for two weeks at Xmas and New Year, I want to do the opposite to you though which is absolutely nothing, I have no interest in visiting anything other than my sun lounger for two weeks.

Last year I was forced to take the kids to Legoland and Ferrari World. This year there's a new place called IMG Worlds of Adventure, plus Motiongate.

You'll love it, shouldn't be too hot at this time of year either.

Thank you for the advice, much appreciated. Sounds like legoland it worth a visit and the aquarium where the kids can explore and feel real sea life also sounds amazing.

None of it sounds amazing to me , I'm genuinely not slagging it off but apart from the baking sun what's the attraction , gold cars

I went to Luxor ,Cairo and a cruise down the Nile in the 90s , now that was amazing , despite the adverts on the TV I wouldn't go there now though.

So the last time you did something amazing was over 25 years ago? I’m not slagging you off but that’s genuinely sad.

Not sure I'd take kids there - stopped over for 2 days on the way back from S Africa last month - humid to the point of nasty. And shops.

Just go to Westfield and spray yourself with water every 5 mins. Oh, and lots of women in full burkhas - but they have Mercs so not repressed at all.

+1. Travel 3.4k miles to go to a Legoland.

Dubai sounds utterly ste for kids.

Out of interest where will you be taking your kids ( if you even have any ) for half term ?

Don't rise to the bait, it's always the way on PH. rolleyes

Somebody asks for advice and then a helpful poster will take the thread off topic and try and tell you what you are doing is wrong and suggest a totally unrelated alternative.

Don't worry, your kids will have a great time as do mine every year.

Maybe he's referring to the last time he went anywhere so gaudy.

Dubai is good fun, in a sort of real life Disneyland, 'this cannot be
a real place where people actually live and work' way!

It's basically a real life version of the Truman show!
