Help needed: UK to Monaco
Discussion
Hi All,
I am driving down to Monaco in my Ferrari 488 for the Formula E E-Prix.
At the moment I want to stop somewhere around Troyes and then Geneva. Maybe 1 more stop before Monaco.
I have a hotel booked in Monaco but would like some advice on hotels with safe parking along the way and on any routes I should take?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I assume my car will be ok on the Ferry?
Thanks

Stay in cannes , personal preference, or nice and take the helicopter, boat , or train to Monaco, there's no point in trying to take a car to Monaco.
My preference is would be stay in cannes and get a boat trip to Monaco if the timescale fits . Or stay in nice and get a return helicopter journey , it's not cheap but you have a Ferrari so I'd guess you've a little disposable income !

Driving into Monaco is no drama, many hotels have valet parking and are used to handling cars properly. We stay at the Port Palace, and the valet service is excellent. Drive up, walk to reception and check in. By the time you have done that, your bags are in your room, and the car is safely parked until you ask for it again. My preference is would be stay in cannes and get a boat trip to Monaco if the timescale fits . Lots of nice hotels in Cannes, the Ferrari will fit in at the Martinez.
& take the tunnel.
Heli in and out (less than you might imagine).
We one stop normally around Dijon.
Get a toll tag so you don’t have to get to close to the toll barrier.

The OP has stated he’s booked in Monaco - good choice and parking is easy, even over the F1 weekend if you know where to go. Sadly can’t help with the actual question
Thanks all, I am staying in the Columbus hotel in Monaco. More looking for some advice on good hotels en-route to Monaco.
Hi,
Personally I would drive from Geneva to Nice / Monaco via the "Route des Grandes Alpes" = its a fantastic route with many places to stay. Its about 450miles from Geneva to Nice so I would do the following :
UK to Les Gets in the French Alps and a few miles from the RdGA start. Drive Les Gets to Valloire day 2. Stay in Hotel de la Poste. Next day Valloire to Nice / Monaco day 3. Repeat when you go home. Driving UK to Les Gets starts very dull, its 90% motorway but last few mile is fun ... but day 2 and 3 will be awesome.
