I'm here in Singapore for a couple more days and the two clients meetings I had for tomorrow (Wednesday) have been binned so I have a free day before flying back Thursday.

What is the best way to see this attraction? The tickets are ~SGD20/p, but reviews suggest small area, no seating and expensive bar. Access to the SkyPark plus a buffet style lunch comes in at SGD72/p. Is it worth the money?

Others mention the CE LA VI bar instead?

Help please!

I mean, the bar and sky park (which im assuming is just the observation deck) are at the top of the hotel by the pool. Sure its an ok view, but its just buildings and I cant say i think its that interesting.

I'd probably go to Gardens By the Bay over that.

Gardens by the Bay is good, but I'd give the Skypark a miss and go to a bar named Level 33. It's in the Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower 1, and it overlooks the Marina Bay. Far better views and you can enjoy a decent beer too.

Yes it is worth going up, and my recommendation would be to go to the Ce La Vi bar too.

You can just go up to the observation deck and come down again, but as you say there's no seating and just a kiosk for refreshments.
If you want to go to the Ce La Vi bar, so some reason it's one way only (up a flight of steps) - you can go in but not back to the observation deck. No problem though.
We sat in the bar and enjoyed a couple of cocktails each. A little expensive, but then Singapore is in general.
You then have access to about 1/3rd of the top deck, up to the entrance to the infinity pool (residents only).
You can still observe the pool, take photos etc. You go down a different lift to the one you came up.

Hope that helps.

P.S. also go to Level 33 bar at night, as suggested.
