I had planned to go to Japan in November for a few weeks which would’ve taken in a round of the WEC at Fuji, Super GT at Motegi and Super Formula at Suzuka with each falling on consecutive weekends. The idea would be to travel in between them and see the country (this would be my first time in Japan).

Now that LeMans has been moved to September the Fuji round of the WEC has been cancelled and Super GT and Super Formula are still TBC.

So this has me shuffling around dates and maybe reassessing to head out in October instead for the F1 and maybe a round of Super GT.

Obviously this is all still up in the air depending on when everything settles down, so I just wanted to get some info on any resources to check out to plan a trip like this or if anyone has been and has any tips on how to travel, where to visit or where to miss?

My plan would be to rent a car and drive around for 3/4 or the trip (over 3 weeks) and then maybe return the car and travel by Shinkansen for the remainder.

I had earmarked the following locations as potential stopping points which would take me on a decent loop of Japan:

Tokyo
Hakone/Fuji
Nikko/Tsukuba
Kanazawa
Takayama
Tsumago
Kyoto
Osaka
Koyasan
Suzuka

Then maybe Hiroshima but it’s a bit out of the way.
