Do you miss travelling for work?
Discussion
I travel about every 4-6 weeks typically to the West Coast of America and elsewhere. I complain bitterly occasionally as I was in Las Vegas, flew back to England for two days and then had to fly to San Francisco at the end of February which is a bit of a killer.
Anyway, it's been about six weeks and I'm actually missing the fact I'm not going to go anywhere for a while.

yes, miss it hugely. probably had 130-160 nights away annually for last 10-15 years. everything at home rolling on smoothly enough but really aware of itchy feet. nothing to do with dealing with wife and kids daily, just miss the whole rigmarole of being somewhere else once a week. I'll still complain about manchester airport though, won't miss that if I never have to clear security there again.
I was going to be on trips to Europe about 6 weeks out of 8 from mid Feb to now. My last trips were to Milan and Zagreb end of Feb, and since then iI've not been further than 5 miles from the house. Yes I do miss it, and I think it will be a long time until i'm away anywhere, even if i don't get made redundant.
Usually one annual transatlantic jaunt plus perhaps monthly ones to Europe, & on balance, I don't miss them much at all.
Yes, the ability to expense a nice meal, and meet up with good colleagues (some of them are even friends!), etc, are a downside....but the early starts, long days: nope.
Have to say I am concerned at how dull I am becoming

I miss the odd short haul to Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam, etc as I can normally go from a local regional airport. A few nights in Paris when you know the place, your boss is paying and he is avoiding expense policy isn't the worst of times.
I don't miss long haul.
You’ve changed I don't miss long haul.

Can’t wait to get moving again
Even though I hate sitting in Manchester traffic 3/4 days per week, I am actually missing getting up and ready, commuting and the same again on the way home... That way I'm thankful to be home at the end of the day and generally tired out. Nowadays it's all a blur, the days/weeks fold in to one monotonous sleep/WFH mess.
Yes. I work in a national BDM role, I miss some of the driving, I miss nice hotels where I can have a quiet bar meal and a few beers in my own company, I miss the swimming pools and spa facilities. I miss the people I meet, catching up with old customers and friends. It's really isolating right now!
