Where to holiday 3 hours from Southampton with 1 year old

Was off to Holland for a lovely break in September it it’s been pulled re COVID

Any suggestions, ideally caravan or similar so we are independent. Around 3 hours from Southampton, don’t need much maybe a zoo or similar near by

At the moment I’m thinking Essex way, ideally don’t want to spend more than 500 for. Week (we had 2 weeks all in in Holland for around 700)

Do you absolutely have to travel three hours? New Forest is right on your doorstep and ticks all your other boxes.

Loads of caravan parks in/around Weymouth & Swanage area with plenty to do in & around both also

Yes, been looking at those, it’s just finding something at a reasonable cost. Had a rotten year so was looking forward to Holland!

Ah, missed the September bit! We're looking at West Bay due to coastal walks and the fish restaurants. Plus Abbottsbury is in easy reach.

Southampton is my birthplace. Tour the locations of Howard's Way. A one year old won't appreciate this, so just give them a bag of sweets.

We went to a place called Ulwell Park I think just outside Swanage around 15/16 years ago. really liked it new vans at teh time , we had booked stactic in Swanage but tuned up there and teh missus stood in there for 5 seconds and said she could not stay the week. Called in at Ulwell and they found a van for us as someone had cancelled that day. Lovely indoor swimming area , was really impressed.
