Very important question - When can I go to the Nordschleife?

I'm really wanting to go to Spa and the Nordschleife in the school holidays with my wife.

We went last year, but 2021 is important (I know, 1st world problems blah blah) as my wife wants to drive this year as well.

When and how is it going to be possible? I run a motorsport orientated company of which my wife is a director, so confident I could generate a business reason to go, but what about entering France, Belguim and Germany on a bit of a road trip? Whats the score on German hotels for example?

We will have both been double jabbed in the next few weeks, just wondered if anyone has done anything similar without jumping through lots of quarantine games as a result.

I guess if I was a trucker it would be easier, but i'm not!

I've just returned from Belgium for work purposes, there is a quarantine period of 10 days there I believe. Not sure about Germany. Hotels were fine, well I booked an apartment, but there was plenty of choice on the usual sites.

Coming back I need to do the UK quarantine, PCR test on day 2 and 8.

So probably not ideal for you right now!

No, probably not ideal, especially if you are driving through Belgium en route to Germany and the same on the return trip, and thats ignoring the French pass through.

Sitting in a hotel in Germany as I type. Travelled here from France, through Luxembourg and to Germany. Hotel is full and restaurant is open, but only to hotel guests. Normally I would have to quarantine but there are exceptions if you are here to work but I believe they are quite strictly enforced. My company has provided various documents and I've filled in more myself. I needed a negative test before I came.

Just to add that driving back from work to the hotel tonight a customs car lit up it's lights and had a "follow me" sign light up, Fortunately it was aimed at the Polish car just behind him. I've seen these pulls happen in the past but very rarely and normally near the border. I'm guessing he was being pulled to check his papers - it would make sense to use existing people, but I could be wrong.

Possibly looking like things might get a little more relaxed soon as Germany expects to have 50% of population jabbed up by June.

Not sure about Belgium though.
