Recomendations for a Covid PCR company

Heading back to the UK in a week's time. Does anyone have a recommendation for a legitimate, reasonably priced company to go with for a "day-2" home-sample PCR test? Seems to be a bit of a mine-field at the moment.

Check your arrival airport. For example East Midlands do one for £55.20 as a drive through in the long stay car park when you arrive. All done then and no need to fanny about with couriers etc (As it's day 2 or before)

Co-op Pharmacy is £57.60 which is the Randox one.

Hmm, £69 for the Gatwick drive-through test which isn't cheap but might be worth it for the relative lack of hassle I guess.

ETA: Ah no the Gatwick drive-through site is closed by the time we land.

As much as they get a bad press, it's hard to knock Randox really, £45 or so if you look about for discount codes, drop boxes in lots of locations and mine came back within 48 hours, not that I cared too much because I wasn't isolating.

I've ordered kit from Oncologica @ £55 - "Your order will be shipped on your Arrival Date for next day delivery to the address provided". Just random selection of the many on .gov website.
I'm due to fly next Thursday, returning Saturday 11 September. Here's hoping it all goes to plan.

Yes, you are missing something.

To fill in the Passenger Location Form you need the reference number provided by the "independent" supplier, you cannot use and NHS kit and any old made up reference number, also, the regulations specifically state that an NHS kit cannot be used.

Which is a little crazy if you think about it, there's bound to be lots of unused capacity in the NHS system, which is already set up for drive through/walk in/home tests!
Just seems like a business opportunity for the boys...
And anyway, how many of the swabs really get done properly anyway?

(I'm firmly in the "it doesn't really matter anyway" camp, as it's not like other countries have any less covid than we do in the first place)

Edit: Last year, and I think also this year, Jersey happily accepts UK NHS test results for travel...
